In honor of Bike to Work Month, we asked our team to share tips, stories, and their favorite pit stops from their daily commutes. Whether you're commuting 1 mile or 10, we hope these tips and tricks will keep you biking every day even after Bike to Work Month ends.
GLORIA - FOUNDER
COMMUTE TIP
Google "how to fix a flat tire with a dollar bill." Though I've only had to do this once, it's a fun trick to have in your back pocket.
WHY I RIDE TO WORK
Better for your health, better for the environment, there's something super satisfying about beating a car to work.
MICHAEL - SALES
COMMUTE TIP
I always use my rear flashing light day or night. It's a little extra during the day time but is helpful as I travel under bridges and through tunnels along the commute.
WHY I RIDE TO WORK
I love the exercise, saving money on gas, and reducing my environmental impact.
LOC- ECOMMERCE / CULTURE
COMMUTE TIP
Take a small sip of water at every stop light. It's easy to forget to hydrate till its too late on alonger commute. :)
WHY I RIDE TO WORK
I bike to work as a form of early morning and post work meditation. Plus the sweet bicycle short tan lines!
AMAR - CO-FOUNDER
COMMUTE TIP
Stop several feet before from the white line at lights- if there is a fish tail accident- those are the areas that have the highest risk (provided by CHP- California Highway Patrol).
LIFE TIP
Never pass up the opportunity to go to a good coffee shop (or five).
WHY I RIDE TO WORK
Cycling to work helps make the city more accessible. I'm able to stop by shops or restaurants during the commute which normally I would have pass by because there is no parking.
